How We Are Perceived
LISTEN UP... because peoples' perception of you is your reality!
It happens everyday, within seconds everyone your employee comes in contact with subconsciously perceives them on a multitude of levels.
They take into account their appearance, posture, language, manners, smile, handshake, eye contact, etc.
They may never actually speak to your employee and yet they perceive them as a confident, friendly, interesting, honest, or perhaps insecure, hostile, boring or dishonest person.
How valuable would it be to know your troops are putting your best foot forward.
Ironically, most people are only willing to share their honest opinion of us with everyone but us, especially if it's negative.
Think about this, when was the last time you told someone about a certain characteristic that he/she possessed that made you perceive him/her negatively?
For example, they might have a weak handshake or perhaps they don't look you in the eyes when shaking your hand. Perhaps she doesn't look you in the eyes while speaking to you or she just never stops talking. Any one of the aforementioned characteristics could possibly influence a client to perceive your employee in a negative way.
They observe your employees mannerisms, form their opinion and neglect to mention their perception to the one person whom it would benefit the most, your employee. However, they will have no problem sharing a negative perception of your company with everyone else they encounter.
Case in point, clients won't say to your employee,"are you ever going to stop talking and listen to me?"
However, they will allow your representative to drone on until frustration sets in and they realize they would rather be hit by a bus then get into another conversation with anyone from your company.
Now how fast do you think their honest opinion of your company is going to spread?
That's right, like wildfire and instead of having conversations with others your employee has now become the subject of conversation.
The fact is, being denied the truth of how others truly perceive your people condemns your employee to remain unchanged, forever repeating the same critical mistakes that cost you market shares.
Would you like to improve your troops interpersonal communication skills?
Would you like your troops to become aware of detrimental communication habits so they could make positive changes?
Would you like them to learn how to influence others in a positive way?
We are betting you would.
LISTEN UP affords you a truly rare and intriguing opportunity to have them learn exactly that.
